Welcome to the KU Center for Sustainability

The Center for Sustainability promotes a culture of sustainability at the University of Kansas, empowering students, faculty, and staff to make decisions that help protect natural ecosystems, create economic prosperity and treat all people with equality and respect. Through campus and community partnerships, we strive to integrate sustainability into education, research, campus operations and campus life.

Through our programs and initiatives, the Center for Sustainability:

  • Serves as an avenue for students and student organizations to collaborate on sustainability initiatives on campus
  • Engages faculty in new opportunities to incorporate sustainability into the classroom and collaborate on sustainability-related research
  • Involves university staff and administration in discussions that lead to new practices for improving environmental, economic, and social responsibility
  • Expand the capacity for sustainable initiatives through campus-wide networking and community outreach

We are constantly seeking input and involvement from the campus community. If you are involved in sustainability-related teaching or research or would like to participate in building a more sustainable future for KU, please contact us!
