Why Sustainability Across the Curriculum?

The complex and interdependent challenges of our world today require critical thinking and creative approaches to meeting the goals of our modern society without undermining the resources that support them. Understanding sustainability is a life skill that will provide every college graduate and global citizen with an interdisciplinary world view, in preparation for contributing to solutions for our present and our future. By infusing sustainability into curriculum across disciplines we are ensuring that the greatest amount of students emerge from higher education with an interdisciplinary understanding of how their civic engagement, career field, and informed decisions affect the society, economy and ecology we all share.
